The party enters the Temple of Zariel in the Vanthampur cellar and begins combat with cultists and a Devil.

Standard Action: Jules throws a dagger at an Acolyte of Zariel, the dagger hits dealing 5 points of damage!

Bonus Action: the Rogue throws a second dagger, that also hits the Acolyte, dealing another 3 points of damage!

Standard Action: The Devil chants in Infernal and hurls a ball of flame at the Rogue, the flame hits dealing 8 points of fire damage!

Chak tah Bol De Ka (In infernal)

Standard Action: Bartok casts Sacred Flame and an Acolyte of Zariel is burned with radiant light for 8 points of damage!

Standard Action: Reya fires her heavy crossbow at an acolyte of Zariel, but the mechanism jams and the crossbow becomes useless until it can be serviced.

"You have no idea what your Patrons have in store for you! Repent now before it’s too late!"

Standard Action: Bruno casts Web and a large web fill the area where the Cultists reside including the devil. All those in the area are restrained unless they succeed on a Dexterity save throw vs DC 15

Stay where you are!

Bonus Action: Dartan places a Hunters Mark on an Acolyte of Zariel.

Standard Action: Dartan steps forward and attacks an Acolyte of Zariel with his Longsword +1 and hits dealing 11 points of damage! And an additional 4 points from the Hunters Mark.

The Acolytes of Zariel turns:

Several of the Acolytes are caught in the web -- two of them become restrained, the rest are able to get free.

Three of them cast Zariels Aid on Odious and he is bathed in a greenish light - that gets brighter each time it's cast. All those attacking Odious with a melee, range or spell attack do so at Disadvantage.

Standard Action: Acolyte T40 L45 rushes Jules, and slashes with a wicked scimitar, scoring a CRITICAL HIT! Jules is cut across the chest for 10 points of damage!

"Your body will be remade to serve Zariel in Avernus!"

Standard Action: An Acolyte swings his Scimitar at Dartan, but the blow just glances off his Plate armor.

"You will be my servant!"

Standard Action: Another Acolyte of Zariel slices at Jules, cutting him across the arm for 4 points of damage!

"the lady Zariel has been watching you and is not pleased."

Standard Action: Hippee sends a blast of energy at an Acolyte of Zariel, but it misses!

Puff Puff Blast

Round 2 starts

Action: Jules uncorks his potion of healing and downs it recovering 10 hit points.

Bonus: Jules slices at the Acolyte, and Luck was on his side! He hits true for 7 points of damage!

Action: The devil speaks infernal at Jules, and throws fire again, hitting the Rogue dealing 11 points of damage!

Action: Bartok casts Cure Light Wounds on Jules and he recovers 26 points of life.

"I come bearing the word of my god. That word is Die."

Action: Reya slashes at an acolyte, but misses!

"Your soul will suffer! Repent before it`s too late!"

Action: Bruno sends a blast of Frost at an acolyte, and it hits for 5 points of damage!

"That could have gone better…"

Action: Dartan roars and attacks an Acolyte, but misses wildly.

"Back to hell with you"

Bonus: He tries to smash the Acolyte with his shield, but also misses.

"Cling To Hope, It`s All You Have!"

The Acolytes act,

1. One slashes at Dartan, but Dartan's armor deflects the attack.

2. One fails to break free from the web.

3. One of the Acolytes charges forward and slices at Hippee, cutting him across the face for 5 points of damage!

4. One Breaks free from web (STR CHECK 16)

5. One of the Acolytes strike at Reya, cutting her across the arm for 7 points of damage

6. An Acolyte strikes at Dartan, but his armor is too thick and he takes no damage.

7. A sneaky Acolyte pierces through Reya`s side, scoring a CRITICAL HIT, dealing 6 points of damage!

8. The acolyte tries to stab Reya, but she parries the attack.

"We will place your head on the alter, woman!"

Action: Hippee fires a blast at an Acolyte and it hits, searing him for 8 points of damage!

"This is folly. Damn your box Hellrider! Fall back! Bruno, let's see what that ring can do! Maybe it can buy us some time."

Reya nods at Dartan, "Agreed - lets fall back. but we must get that box!" Looks at the rest of the party, "We will hold them back until you all get in the hall, then we shut those doors."

Round 3 starts

Action: The Rogue pounces on an Acolyte and slashes him across the face for 10 points of damage! and 7 points of sneak damage!

Bonus: Jules slashes with his off hand, and hits for another 11 points of damage, killing him!

Action: Odious casts Incite Greed on the party. He holds a beautiful red gemstone that is extremely desirable to everyone affected by the spell.

Save: Jules resist the Incite greed Spell.

Save: Bartok resists the Incite Greed spell.

Action: Bartok`s eyes glow softly as he chants, and a beam of radiant light bathe the Acolyte and sears him for 7 points of damage!

Save: Reya resists the Incite Greed spell

Action: Reya disengages from the Cultists and backs up holding her ground and defending those behind her.

Save: Bruno resists the Incite Greed Spell

Action: Bruno fires off a Ray of Frost that hits the Acolyte, dealing 8 points of damage!

Save: Dartan resists the Incite Greed spell

Action: Dartan roars, and brings his longsword down on the Acolyte, severing his neck, killing him. 10 points of damage

Bonus: Dartan moves his Hunter`s mark to a different target.

The Acolytes turns:

Two of the Acolytes cast Zariel's Aid on Odious. Once again, Odious begins to glow softly as Zariel lends her power to him.

Five of the Acolytes attack Reya and Bartok, but they all miss their mark, and the last Acolyte falls prone as he slips approaching the Dwarf.

Save: Hippee fails his save and is affected by Incite Greed.

Action: Hippee walks over to Odious, staring longingly at the gemstone. He wants to take it, but waits for the Devil`s permission

End of Turn Save: Suddenly, Hippee comes to his senses and realizes he was charmed. He shakes off the spell, but finds himself standing next to the Devil.

Round 4 starts

The battle continues.

Jules rushes in, and finds an opening, slashing the acolyte for 6 points of damage, and 10 points of sneak damage! He strikes with his offhand, but the acolyte dodges the strike.

The Devil grapples with Hippee (Athletics Check: 19), But Hippee slips past the Devil and avoids the grapple (Opposing Athletics Check: 19)

"Sssstand Down, all of you, or the Gnome dies", hisses Odious.

Bartok casts Sacred flame and a radiant fire begins to engulf an Acolyte, but the Acolyte avoids the spell with a Dex save throw.

Reya`s eyes flash white as the Devil threatens Hippee, and she slashes her longsword at the Acolyte`s neck, decapitating him for 20 points of damage. Critical Hit! She follows up with her off hand, striking another acolyte in the arm for 6 points of damage! Using her Frenzied attack, she strikes again with her long sword, dealing another 8 points of damage to the ailing acolyte.

"You can`t kill our gnome, if you`re dead first! Hell hungers…and you shall feed it. I have had enough of this!!" She screams as she slashes the Acolytes around her.

Seeing the carnage and thinking fast, Bruno casts Web again, and webs ensuare the Acolytes. Two of them avoid being restrained by the sticky webs, but one of them becomes entangled.

"What? Hippee?! No!" he exclaims, as the webs appear around the acolytes again.

Dartan swings his mighty sword at the Acolyte of Zariel, his blade lands luckily! Slicing through the Acolytes neck causing major blood loss - he takes 8 points of damage from the sword and is burned for 5 points of damage from Hunters mark

"No Trace Shall Remain!", he says confidently.

THe acolyte runs behind Dartan, and strikes with advantage, stabbing him from behind, finding a weak spot in his armor, CRITICAL HIT, his blade pierces through an internal organ dealing 12 points of damage!

One acolyte breaks away from Dartan and Reya and they take the opportunity to attack him.

Dartan makes a fast stab with his blade as the acolyte moves toward Hippee, slicing open his back dealing 8 points of damage!

Reya tries to attack the Acolyte as he lunges for Hippee but she misses.

The acolyte comes up behind Hippee and brings his scimitar down into his shoulder, cutting deep dealing 7 points of damage, nearly killing him.

another acolyte tries to cut into Dartan but his armor is too strong.

Two acolytes remain restrained by Brunos web.

Hippee, finding himself trapped between the huge thistly demon and his acolyte, hurt and coming out of a haze, puts his fleet feet to use and throws up a peace sign to demon and high tails it out the door cursing and laughing. "Well Shit." he says gleefully as blood rushes from his wounds.

Round 5 starts

Jules darts back into the room to backstab the Acolyte in the door, but he is unable to find an opening amid the chaos.

After careful planning he finds his mark and stabs the Acolyte in the back for 4 points of damage, and 7 points of sneak damage!

As the battle rages, there is a noise coming from the Dining room door in the hallway, Bruno notices the door opens and and a mask wearing cultist appears in the doorway, he immediately sees Bruno and is taken aback, and then shouts,

"Intruders in the hallway! They have attacked the temple! Quick to arms!" he shouts. Bruno can see a group of cultists in the dining room behind them scrambling to grab their blades to join the melee.

Odious streaks over toward the door, blocking the exit and viciously claws at the Paladin - His first claw strike misses! His second claw, also misses and bounces off Dartans armor.

Odious sweeps his tail at the Paladin, the tail, Ignores his AC and lands a vicious blow, tearing into the Paladin`s leg, dealing 7 points of damage. A surge of energy from Odious fills the Paladin`s body with dread (Make a Save vs CON (DC15))

Dartan succeeds his save and holds his footing.

Bartok swings his big mace at an acolyte, but misses.

Bartok bring his shield up and connects with the Acolytes jaw breaking the mask and dealing 7 points of damage, and shoves the Acolyte backward 5 feet into the hall.

Reya swings her longsword and misses her attack.

Reya swings her off hand blade and again misses trying to find an opening.

She uses her Frenzied attack to make another slash with her Longsword but fails to find an opening again.

"Stop moving, Zariel trash!"

Reya shouts, "This Devil is drawing power from Zariel, I can sense a surge, and I have felt Zariel's aura before - his Acolytes must be channeling her power to him somehow. We must slay his Acolytes. Focus all attacks on his minions! Quickly"

Bruno’s head swivels towards the door to the dining room as it opens to reveal the cultists beyond. His eyes growing wide, he shouts to the rest of the group. “It’s worse! It got worse!” Breathing heavily and carefully weaving through the hall, he stands next to the bloodied form of Hippee. Placing a hand protectively in front of the gnome he points his other hand at an acolyte behind Dartan. A cold ray of frost blazes past the half orc and drops the acolyte lifeless to the ground. Lowering his stance defensively and to make it easier for the gnome to reach inside his pack, he addresses Hippee while keeping his focus down the hall. “Grab a healing potion from my pack. They’re inside the medium pocket in the main pouch.”

Dartan drinks his potion and recovers 10 points of life.

"Bottoms up"

Dartan moves his hunters mark to odious.

The acolytes attack, slashing at Bartok and Dartan but their attacks are parried. The Prone acolytes frees himself from the web, and another remains restrained.

Hippee Disengages from the battle as he grabs a potion out of Brunos pack as a bonus action and takes refuge behind the Rogue.

The cultists then come pouring into the hallway with Blowguns, five of them fire their darts and one hits Bruno in the arm! He feels the effects of sleep poison start to overtake him, but he shrugs off the worst of the effect, however he becomes groggy from the poison and will suffer disadvantage for until the end of his next turn.

Round 6 begins.

**the nimble rogue dashes through the kitchen and dining room to get behind the cultist at the door**

Jules darts through the kitchen and stealthily stabs a cultist in the dining room in the back, dealing 7 points of damage and 9 points of sneak damage, Killing the cultist!

Odiois casts Darkness and a total blackness fills the area around the devil, as the darkness fills the space, those in the area suddenly find themselves completely without sight. It's an eerie feeling - its cold...

Chants in infernal - "Lets see how you flesh bags handle the lonliness of total darkness!!"

Odious sweeps his spiked tail at the Paladin, ignoring his AC for armor, but the Paladin with a divine instinct jumps and dodges the tail swipe!

"And now, Paladin of Tyr - your god has forsaken you here this day! "(speaks in Infenral)

Bartok swings his crackling mace where he *thought* the acoloytes face was, but he only strikes air with a *whiff*

Bartok feels lucky and swings his shield hard where he senses the Acolyte breathing, the shield connects with the accolytes face, braking his mask and dealing 4 points of damage. ** Luck Increase Damage by +1 **

"I think your face was about....right....there!", says bartok playfully as the smash of the shield rings out.

Reya slashes in the darkness, and her strike lands true on the Devil, cutting into his body dealing 9 points of damage!

"I have fought in total darkness before and won, you are not the most powerful devil I have slain, Odious."

With her off hand, she fumbles and her sword bounces off dartan`s armor and the blade snaps (Lost Short sword)

"Send word to Zariel - that she will never take this city and she will Give back Elturel!!!", she declares with resolve.

With her Frenzied attack, she pierces her sword into Odious but he sidesteps the attack., "Die Fiend", she says assuredly.

A sharp sting pierces Bruno's arm as his vision begins to swim. He instinctively grips his arm, his eyes wide in panic.

"Augh! I'm hit! They got me!"

A moment later, the world around him becomes pitch darkness. Bruno's mind swirls with a thousand thoughts as he contemplates where death will ultimately take him. As seconds pass and the sounds of confused battle continue, Bruno realizes death has not yet claimed him and attempts to straighten his thoughts. A growl in his throat, he gestures to where an acolyte stood before him a moment ago. He points a weaving palm into the darkness and casts another Ray of Frost at an Acolyte and hits for 6 points of damage!

"Not. Dead. YET!", he gasps

As an unholy darkness fills his eyes, panic momentarily sets in. However, years of training take over and Dartan utters a simple prayer, one that he has repeated many times before "Tyr, be my eyes"

Hearing the prayer, Tyr has mercy on Dartan and instantly, the outline of Odious can be seen. No longer at a disadvantage, he lets out a chuckle at the demon. "Ah yes. Zarial is powerful indeed. Yet not as powerful as Tyr!" and slams his shield into Odious.

Dartan surprises Odious and smashes him in the head with his Shield. Odious barely budges and laughs. (Damage Resistance to non-magical Bludgeoning, damage is halved) Dealing 3 points of damage.

"You believe that Tyr will save you?" (laughs menacingly) "Your god has no power here. Zariel will make you her slave in the Nine Hells. She has told me I will get to play with you as my own personal pet."

Two of the acolytes cast Zariel's aid on Odious again, once again channeling power from the underworld onto the devil.

Two of the acolytes continue to struggle in the web.

Hippee pops the cork of the healing potion and drinks. After burping he recovers 10 points of life.

One of the cultists tries to move (Perception Roll: 8) and ends up walking into the channel in the center of the hall, falling in the water and becoming prone, also taking 1 point of damage.

Three of the cultists fire their blowguns at where Bartok and Bruno were, three darts miss, but one hits Bruno in the neck. The groggy wizard staggers back a step and gets an adrenaline rush that once again shakes off the effect. The grogginess remains however and he still suffers disadvantage until the end of his next turn.

The last cultist flings his scimitar near bartok but it just bounces off the wall.

Round 7 begins

Jules Bumps up against the wall, failing his perception roll, he creeps slowly in the total blackness. A wave of curiosity goes over him as he has never had the experience of total darkness before. He is only able to move 15 feet, stopping at the open door.

As Jules reaches the doorway, he stabs into the dark hoping to hit a cultists. He can hear his breath, but his strike still misses.

With some luck he sprinkles a handfull of caltrops at the doorway, they fall with a clinking sound amid the sounds of battle. With some luck, a few roll right under the feet of one of the cultists, who steps down hard, taking 4 points of damage, and falling forward, into the channel. The Cultists lands prone

Odious angrily attacks Dartan, missing with both claws and missing with his tail, giving Dartan an opening.

As Odious arrogantly fights in the darkness with no penalty, he shouts to his followers. "More power! I need more power! Channel me more power, vermin! I command it!!!" ** laughs in a harmonicly evil tone **

Reya turns her attention toward the Acolyte

she spins around and slashes with her Longsword but in her haste she cracks Dartan across the arm, luckily his armor prevents him from taking any damage. "I think there was one stuck in the web...here!!! (SLASH)" She slashes again, cutting into the web, and missing. "Sorry Dartan, lets try that again.... right HERE!!! (slash)"With her Frenzied attack she slashes one last time, and barely misses. "Ok, I know hes in here somewhere, (SLASH)"

Tracing the silhouette of Odious through the unholy dark, Dartan senses a moment of hubris and lunges for the devil, grabbing him unexpectedly.

"Come with me!" and drags odious to the far wall of the room.

"BARTOK! BRUNO! NOW! THE ONES THAT ARE AIDING HIM"

Dartan grapples with the devil, and successfully grabs hold and doesn`t let go -- then he begins Dragging the roaring devil away from the Melee. The two wrestle around the webs, knocking over the candlestick, with a crash.

As Dartan drags the Devil into the sanctuary, Odious curses and hisses while he struggles against the Paladin.

(SPEAKING INFERNAL)"Let me go, filth! You will pay for your insolence! I said release me, swine!!! I will remove your manhood and force feed it you while your mother watches!!! " HE continues to hurl insults in infernal, and Dartan doesn't understand, but knows he's angry...

"I Bet you weren't expecting that" says Dartan attempting to bash Odious with his shield, connecting with nothing as the blessing from Tyr fades from his vision and he lets go of the demon

Bartoks eyes suddenly return to him as the darkness fades, and with quick, dwarf like reflexes (and a bit of luck) he bashes his mace in the face of the Acolyte, there is a gruesome crunch as he destroys the Acolytes mask, and caves in his skull, dealing 9 points of damage, killing him.

"Ugh what the hell is that all over your face? Oh.. that`s just your face."

Bartok throws a smoke vial, that lands at the feet of the cultists and a thick hazy smoke fills the hall obscuring four of the cultists. (Those inside the cloud have disadvantage on attack rolls, and have 3/4 cover)

"Now ya see me! Now ya don`t!"

Bruno feels another twinge of pain in his neck and continues and his vision begins to blur further. Pushing through the fog of sleep pressing in on his mind he shakes his head to try and stay focused. He shuts his eyes tight as the distant voice of Dartan reaches his ears. Bruno tries to focus on the words and slaps himself to try and get his mind to focus. When he opens his eyes a split second later he watches as Bartok brains the acolyte that is suddenly visible again. Momentarily stunned that he can see again, he looks down the hallway as Bartok’s smoke grenade begins to fill the space. Looking down in front of him, Bruno sees the prone form of another cultist. His vision still blurring a little, Bruno draws his dagger and squints his eyes to try and focus on his target. He plunges his blade down and feels it find purchase. No time for sleep yet. Bruno pulls his dagger and lunges at the prone cultist, stabbing him in the back. He groans and takes 7 points of damage!

The acolytes continue to struggle in the web, remaining ensnared - one of the acolytes tries to find Reya but stumbles into the web as well.

"youve made a clerical error"

Hipppe tells a joke and snickers at himself, before releasing a crackling purple beam of energy that fries the Cultist face down in the sewage, dealing 7 points of damage Killing him!

The Cultists, emerge from the smoke, one seeing an outline of Jules slashes at him with his Scimitar, hitting for 8 points of damage!

"The gods shine on you in dark places"

Another cultists finds his way out of the smoke, and slashes at Bruno - hitting for 6 points of damage!

Which limb shall I rend first? Wizard!?

Round 8 begins

The rogue assesses the chaos as smoke fills the hall: magical darkness, roaring Daemons, smoke and a slight red wine buzz. A familiar grin slides across his face as he shrugs and attacks the hazy figure in the doorway.

The Rogue slashes at the outline of the cultist hidden in the smoke, and as he swings he clips the edge of the door frame, breaking his shortsword against the hard stone door jam.

"gods damn it all forsaken whoreson bitches", he says.

Using his cunning action, the Rogue blends into the shadows and is gone.

Odious grapples with Dartan, latching onto him and wrestling him to the ground. His spines pierce Dartan dealing 6 points of damage as they roll around on the ground.

"Why let go, Paladin? Let me show you the way.", laughs Odious

Odious tries to bite Dartan`s neck as they grapple, but it`s fangs miss and bite his plate armor instead.

Dartan struggles against odious's grasp to no avail. "Well then! Must've seen something you liked when I dragged ya. Stir up feelings inside you can't explain? Does my reputation preceed me down here as well? Let go and let's see what you got."

Reya slashes her sword, and finds her target tangled in the web - she cuts the cultist`s hand dealing 7 points of damage!

"I know your here somewhere!! "(SLASH)

"Found you! Hold still!"

Reya jams her other blade into the chest of the suspended Acolyte, dealing 9 points of piercing damage, killing him! The channeling of Zariels power ends.

With a lucky strike on the cultist, Bartok`s mace smashes across his chest dealing 9 points of damage!

Then bringing up his shield he finishes off the cultist by smashing his nose with a "snap" for 5 points of damage!

Bruno’s vision begins to clear as Hippee’s crackling eldritch blast finishes off the cultist in front of him. Bruno shakes his head to clear the remaining cobwebs and looks to his side to see Bartok engaged with another cultist. As a shout emerges from the smoke, Bruno’s head whips towards the sound and his eyes open wide as a cultist charges towards him, his scimitar held high. Bruno reflexively raises his arm in defense and receive a nasty cut on his forearm. Grunting in pain, Bruno shifts his weight and tightens his grip on the dagger while thrusting it back towards the cultist before they have a chance to react. “Nobody makes me bleed my own blood. Nobody!”

Bruno jabs his dagger at the nearest cultist, piercing his leg for 6 points of damage!

The two acolytes once again channel Zariel's Aid to Odious.

Hippee fires off another Eldrich blast at a cultist, but the shot misses and sizzles on the stone floor instead.

"get clerick rolled" he shouts as he laughs and laughs at his own joke.

The last three cultists attack Bruno and Barok but all their attacks miss as the party gains a second wind.

Round 9 begins

As the round begins, Bartok feels the presence of the Baroness and begins to softly pray to her for aid.

The rogue tosses the broken blade with a curse and dashes off, "we got to stop buying these Shite blades."

Jules reaches the kitchen door, and walks through next to Hippee.

Jules quickly pulls his daggers and with extreme speed and luck he throws the dagger at one of the cultists, the dagger flies true and deals 5 points of damage! And 7 points of sneak damage! The cultist falls dead!

Jules, seeing one cultist fall, quickly throws another dagger at a second cultist, the second dagger also flies true and plants itself in the cultists head, dealing 5 points of damage and 8 points of sneak damage! Luck was on his side!

Odious drags Dartan toward the Statue of Zariel (Drags 15 feet with movement)

""Tyr! Get this horny bastard off me"!", calls out Dartan.

Then tries to shove Dartan 10 feet toward the statue (Opposed Athletics check to succeed in the shove) Dartan falls backward and lands in front of the statue of Zariel with a "THUD".

"My lady Zariel! Accept this sacrifice!!!"

As Dartan lands at the foot of the statue of Zariel, a voice rings out from the statue,

"Paladin of Tyr, your judgement has come and you are found unworthy and forsaken by your god. Kneel before me, and swear your soul to serve me as a champion, and I will bestow on your more power than you would ever dream. Deny me and you will serve me as a slave"

As dartan lands at the foot of the statue, some unseen force pins him to the floor, as if affected by a Hold Person spell. (Make a Wis Save, DC 18 to break free)

Reya hears the voice coming from the darkness where the statue stands,

"Don't fall for her lies, Dartan! You are a good man. Resist her! She is corrupt and twisted" Reya shouts!

The statue laughs and continues, "A good man? Yes, he is a good man - a good man that no one has taken notice of, not even his god. Isn't that right Dartan? You have been an outcast your whole life. Your parents left you. Your order didn't want you. They took you out of pity!! I know what you desire. You can have it all, if you become my Champion you will finally have all that you deserve! Swear to me, my Champion!" The room shakes with Zariel's booming voice.

Dartan stands, breaking free from the Hold Person effect and faces the Statue of Zariel

"Z....Zariel. I know you. I have studied you extensively. You fascinate me. You understand me. I.... you... you're like me. You commanded armies, your vengeance unwavering, your power unmistakable. You...fell... Your fury. Your Rage. Your Justice. And you were cast down for what? Being too efficient in your mission? Wanting to help? Retribution for innocents slaughtered? You didn't fall. You. Were martyred. You. Were right. The Blood Wars rage and these fools invoke your name. They are weak! Look at the corpses of these "acolytes." You sent them a devil and they still failed. The vanthampur children have been slain. Their mother... she is the reason you are here, isn't she? Her power... I feel it. And you need me? You....want me? What of your generals? Those that followed you? You offer me a place at their side? To cleanse the hells of demons for all eternity? Power overwhelming? Being able to achieve my goals and dreams? As dartan continues to respond to Zariel, he pops a potion, "I`ll drink to your honor, Zariel", he says, and drinks it, some of the potion dripping down his chin and getting on his armor. He throws the vial down with a "SMASH" and recovers 10 hit points.

As Dartan finishes his speech to Zariel, he calls out to Tyr one last time, the shield begins to glow brightly, and a pair of scales burns itself onto the shield, with a hammer in the center. Suddenly the darkess is dispelled and Dartan smashes the statue, with a deafening boom the entire statue crumbles to dust.

"Is this the best statue you can get?", replies Dartan smugly.

Odious shrieks as the light from Dartan's shield dispells his darkness.

"You fool! Zariel will have you crushed under her feet!!! (Hurls curses in Infernal"

** as light returns ** "Oh, there you are all tangled in the web. "

Reya slices at the Acolyte channling power to Odious as he hangs restrained in the web. Her first slice cuts through his chest for 9 points of damage, Her second off hand attack hits for 4 points of damage, With an angry frenzied strike she slashes the Acolytes arm, he tries his best to parry but in the web he is unable to do so and takes another 9 points of damage!

"This evil ends here today!!!!", Reya declares!

Bartok finishes his prayer to the Baroness and a sudden beam of light pierces through the ceiling over Bartok. Bartok's Mace begins to glow brightly with a holy aura.

With light beaming from his mace and the Baroness granting him Luck, Bartok smashes the face of the Acolyte, crushing his nose for 6 points of damage!

Bartok brings his shield up, and slams the acolyte in the chest, cracking a rib for 3 points of damage!

"Honor compels me!" shouts bartok.

Bruno takes a half step back in surprise as Jules cuts the cultists down before him seemingly from nowhere. Turning his gaze to check on Bartok, his jaw drops openly as a pale light surrounds the dwarf. The dwarf’s eyes blaze with a peaceful, holy fury as Bruno continues to stare. Taken aback at Bartok’s transformation, Bruno is motionless as the dwarf charges forward into the chamber with Odious and the acolytes. Regaining his senses a moment later, Bruno rushes forward to block the last remaining cultist from following and flanking Bartok. Blocking the door with his body, Bruno peers into the room looking after Bartok. Seeing an acolyte staggered and bloody, Bruno seizes the opportunity and gestures quickly. Pushing a palm towards the cultist, Bruno shouts “Ray of Frost!” and sends a bolt of light blue energy streaking towards the restrained acolyte.

Bruno’s ray of frost slams into the Acolyte dealing 8 points Killing him!

The Acolyte curses and struggles in the web but fails.

Hippee casts another Eldrich blast at a cultist, the blast hits! Dealing 10 points of damage!

"Get Blasted!" he shrieks!

The last Cultist of Zariel atacks Bruno and cuts him deeply across the abdomen, dealing 6 points of damage!

"Death to you!"

Round 10 begins

Hearing the ruckus and otherworldly voices from the next room, "We`ll that sounds either really good or really bad." Then noticing the wizard is in peril exclaims, "Walter! Hold on!" and moves to flank the cultist.

Jules cuts down the last Cultist, dealing 6 points of damage and 3 points of Sneak Damage!

For good measure, the Rouge plants his sword deep in the Cultists head.

Odious, angered charges Dartan and claws at him but misses! Claws again and misses!

Then Odious sweeps with his tail! Ignoring AC, he hits Dartan in the legs dealing 7 points of damage! Dartan winces at the tail swipe but keeps his footing.

Reya draws her crossbow, and takes aim at the Acolyte suspended in the web, her bolt pierces his shoulder for 8 Points of damage!

Dartan brings his Longsword up, and slices Odious across the abdomen, and greenish-brown ichor pours out, Odious takes 9 points of damage!

"Care to join your master? Let`s see if your face crumbles like your masters statue"

He follows up the strike with his shield, but Odious blocks that with his claws.

Bartok charges into the sanctuary, with his glowing mace and attacks Odious. With a powerful and thundering blow, and a bit of luck, he crushes Odious` arm for 10 points of damage!

"Time for you to go home!!, Baroness guide me!!"

As Odious reels from the crushing blow to his arm, Bartok brings his shield to meet Odious` face, and with a SNAP, Odious takes another 5 points of damage!

As Bruno's attention strays toward the conflict in the main chamber, his reaction is too slow to avoid the cultist's scimitar. Bruno grimaces as a red line is cut across his midsection. He turns to face the cultist just as Jules' short sword pierces the cultists neck, killing him. Holding a hand to his ribs, he's startled as Bartok begins to charge into the room towards the devil.

"Bloody balls, Bartok!"

Dropping the web spells to clear a path for Bartok to reach the devil, bruno grimaces in pain again.

"Oof... that could have gone better."

Gesturing quickly and extending his palm towards the remaining acolyte, Bruno holds his breath and again casts Ray of Frost. Bruno points a finger and sends a ray of frost at the lone Acolyte, and the icy ray strikes squarely in his chest, dealing 6 points of damage! He exhales slightly as the blue beam strikes true and slows the acolytes movements. Looking sideways at Jules and Hippee, Bruno takes a step back and chuckles weakly.

"Think I'll just hang out back here."

The Acolyte charges up behind Bartok, to backstab the Dwarf, but as he does, Bartok`s mace glows brightly and Bartok parries the attack knocking the Acolyte`s scimitar out of his hand, DISARMING HIM, the scimitar flips up and cuts the Acolyte across the cheek dealing 2 points of damage! (CRITICAL FUMBLE)

"To the death!!"

Hippee seeing his fellow magic wielder struck rushes to his side. “That looks pretty bad Bruno” Hippee takes his finger and gently pokes Bruno’s gash and tastes the blood. “Yep, all you wizards taste the same, delicious” Hippee yells to the last remaining acolyte “You can die now” and casts his Eldritch blast towards him

Hippee pops out from the hallway and screams points his finger at the Acolyte. A ray of purple energy hits him in the chest, as luck would have it, right where Bruno`s ray of frost just struck - the Acolyte shrieks from the pain and takes 10 points of damage!

Round 11 Begins
